The Main Differences between Harmony and Premium

Both teas in organic quality, both provide us with energy, both can be prepared as ice teas or hot beverages – but which one is the right for me?

The leaves matter

Matcha tea is divided into many categories and grades. This categorisation depends mainly on which kinds of leaves are added to the final mix. Because tea plantations are shaded, the lower the leaves grow, the less light they get, and their quality is therefore worse than the top leaves.

When preparing matcha tea, only a few of the top leaves are picked but still, there is a big differences in their quality.

Harmony pairs best with flavours

Our basic product Bio Matcha Tea Harmony is prepared from the leaves of middle higher quality for which is characteristic grass green colour and more prominent umami taste.

That is the reason why the taste of Harmony is stronger and pairs amazingly with fresh fruit juice, high quality sirup, ginger, honey, various spices, milk, coconut water, or for example with 100% juice. That is why Harmony is the perfect product for all matcha beginners who are just looking for the right form of drinking for them. It can be also used as an ingredient in smoothies, alcoholic beverages or porridges. You can find some recipes here.

In Harmony, we can find the fantastic amino acids that help improve our mood, strengthen our memory, induce the feeling of relaxed mind and also provide us with the feeling of intense concentration. This product also contains the tea form of caffeine – theophylline – which guarantees gradual release of energy into our body for 3-6 hours. The leaves for Harmony are harvested in Japan, in the Nishio and Shizuoka areas.

Premium tastes the best on its own

The higher grade, Bio Matcha Tea Premium, is characteristic with its vibrant green colour and a finer taste, which we do not recommend to mix with other tastes, as it would drown Premium’s taste completely.

Because of this reason, we recommend trying first Harmony and working your way to Premium – only then can our customers fully appreciate the refined and fresh taste of Premium. Bio Matcha Tea Premium is even greener, it contains even more amino acids, and has even more caffeine than Bio Matcha Tea Harmony.

Premium contains even more amino acids and induces even stronger concentration with a lower dose of matcha, than Harmony. However, the gradual release of energy for 3-6 hours remains the same and even in Premium, there are no side effects characteristic for caffeine drinks or coffee (such as nervousness, shaky hands, perspiration). The leaves for Premium are picked by hand in Japan, in Nishio prefecture.

Premium should definitely not be used as an ingredient in food.

Harmony and Premium - always organic and fresh

Besides special form of growing, both teas go through steam drying, removing of leafstalks and veins from the pulp, and milling in the traditional granite mills. Both teas are grown in organic (bio) conditions and both are regularly tested for possible contamination by yeast, mould, pesticides, or bacteria e. coli. These tests are publicly accessible on our website.

Beware of the power of tea

We do not recommend drinking Harmony or Premium on an empty stomach. The teas are strong and can cause nausea if you are hungry.
